Precious Darla joined our busy foster home yesterday and fit right in. She is just the right size and age for Sully and Cocoa and really enjoys playing with them. She is very gentle and playful, yet she is surprisingly assertive with our usually-dominant resident 2 year old Aussie, Luci. "Don't boss me around!" she seems to tell her.She is a very smart cookie... she knows and responds to her name and she was doing her "sit!" after a single training session. Too cold and wet today to do much leash work, but she walked very prettily on her lead to the car this afternoon and we will update that as time goes by. She is adapting easily to her housebreaking schedule-- no accidents at all this first 24 hours! It took her a while to settle down in her crate in our bedroom last night, but once she did she slept all night. We started her on Natural Balance Sweet Potato and Fish food and she is an enthusiastic eater. She received the requisite Mud Puppies treatment (bath with blow dry & brushing, ears & eyes wiped, nails trimmed, and teeth brushed). What a pretty girl!!
All in all, a very easy transition for this sweet girl.
